Is your business giving away free internet?

  • If your business is using wireless internet (WiFi) you may be giving away internet access without knowing it. Is your WiFi point open or closed? Is the business next to you using your network for free? We can help you find out and help you secure your network.

  • If you provide wireless internet as a convenience to your customers, running a "wide open" WiFi point isn't the best way:

    • Any illegal activity (downloading music, child pornography, etc.) conducted by whoever connects to your network can be tracked only as far as your network.

    • Anyone connecting to your WiFi access point may have "behind the firewall" access to your other computers.

    • Anonymous wireless computers could use up all your bandwidth, causing slower response times for you.

    • Your wireless connection extends beyond the walls of your business-is there a computer next door or in the parking lot connecting to your network?

  • What can a wireless firewall do for me?

    • It allows you to decide how you want to grant access to your network.

    • You can grant access to anybody or only customers who ask.

    • You can grant it 24 hours a day or only during business hours.

    • You can control how much is downloaded and limit what sites are accessed.
